A stationary fully automatic standby power generator that bears full control for the load in the case of a power outage or if the voltage exceeds or falls below the predetermined range. The power plant shuts down automatically when the grid comes back online without any hiccups. The device can also be operated in parallel with the grid, e.g. during testing or to produce peak power under control. All the tools required for managing and keeping an eye on the power plant are housed in the instrument cabinet. The PLC used for the control has an operating voltage of 24 VDC and consists of a basic module and a communication module. A step up regulator is utilized to power the PLC, ensuring the proper operating voltage in every mode.

The operating data and alerts for the power plant can be read out in plain text on the operator's panel, which is connected to the PLC, and can be transferred onto an USB flash drive. Maneuvers can be carried out and the operating mode changed from the operator panel, including auto/start test, uninterrupted reserve power test, simulated mains failure, operation against mains, and alarm reset. The alarms are divided into A-alarm blocking and B-alarm indicating.

The reserve unit is equipped with a robust battery system made up of two parallel start and control batteries, each of which has enough capacity to act as the power plant's battery on its own. Voltage monitors are installed to ensure the uniformity of the cell voltages of the series-connected batteries. Block voltage equalizers are also added to ensure each battery in a series-connected chain receives the correct charging voltage.
